PMJAY- Ayushman Bharat Yojana scheme that helps the economically weaker sections of society to meet their health care needs. The scheme started on 23-september-2018, covers about 50 crore citizens in India. It is a National health protection scheme for cashless hospitalization of under privileged society. Under the scheme, all pre-existing diseases of beneficiaries are covered.
It covers 3 days pre hospitalization and 15 days post hospitalization expenses. PMJAY-Ayushman Bharat Yojana provides defined benefit cover of Rs. 5 lakh per family per year so that they can access quality hospitalization services. It covers accidents and minor to major diseases, surgery, cost of diagnosis, non-intensive and intensive care services, Medicine and medical consumables, Accommodation, and also designed to provide cash benefits up to Rs 5,000 to lactating mothers and pregnant women. The government observed that a lot of undernourished women were forced to give birth to underweight babies, which causes the high rates of infant mortality.
The card will show Name, date of birth, gender and policy number of beneficiary. The Ayushman Bharat Yojana card holders can get the benefits of the scheme across the country and beneficiaries are allowed to take cashless benefits from any public/private hospitals across the country.

Now you can renew the Ayushman Bharat – Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana card in the Union Territory. To take advantage of the scheme, get your card renewed immediately. Ensure your family’s health by renewing your card by visiting your nearest health centre immediately. If your card is renewed during the year 2013-14 or before 2016, number in the card will be highlighted in light blue colour they cannot renew the card unless you get another notification from the authorities.
If your Ayushman Bharat Yojana card is renewed during the year 2017-18, the number in the card will be highlighted in dark blue colour. You can visit your nearest health centre/ hospital to renew the card. You will need ration card or marriage certificate as supporting documents to renew the card. Once the card is renewed, the date of validity will be mentioned as a stamp below the card.
