Dairy Farm subsidy – Cow breeding is also an important step in animal husbandry. One can make a lucrative job if one pays attention. The first thing an entrepreneur should do is visit as many dairy farms as possible and talk to managers to understand things.

In the wake of the Kovid crisis, the Chief Minister announced livelihood assistance schemes for farmers. An amount of `77 crore has been set apart. 5000 farmers in Alappuzha, Pathanamthitta, Idukki, Wayanad, Ernakulam, Thrissur and Kottayam districts will be given a subsidy of Rs 60,000 each to buy two cows.

The subsidy is Rs 15,000 each for 3500 farmers to grow guitar. Rs 5,000 each will be given to 5,000 farmers to build pens. 6000 farmers will get a subsidy of Rs. 6650 each and 1800 people will get a subsidy.

The Dairy Development Department has invited MSDP applications for the Subhiksha Kerala scheme for dairy farmers who are interested in raising good quality native cows.

Indigenous cows like Gir, Sahiwal, Vechoor and Sindhi can be purchased under this scheme.

The cow must be insured for three years and the project must continue, and as such a contract must be entered into. Financial assistance will be provided only after the beneficiary has prepared the physical facilities including the pen and purchased the cow. Maximum financial assistance 36500 / –
