Free Internet Service Kerala : Have y0u read the title? Internet! that too with no cost? Yes the Government Kerala is ready to launch this free internet service by December 2020. This project named as K-FON, Kerala Fiber Optic Network Project. The government is intending to provide the availability of internet throughout the state. This facility will be completely free for poor and an affordable price will be charged from others.

The main intention of this project is to provide quality internet to all. And after the successful implementation of this project, Kerala will be the first state that has declared Internet as a fundamental right of a citizen. The government plans to provide a highspeed internet which range a speed from 10MBPS to 1GBPS, to the houses and offices across the state.

This service will be completely free of cost to the 20 lakh poor houses across the state. And only a minimal fare will be charged to others. The project is initially implemented in the district of Wayanad under the supervision of KSEB and KSITL. At the initial  stage about 30000 institutions will be connected which consists of 8000 government offices and educational institutions.

The application process to avail this service has not yet been notified by the state. But notification regarding this is expecting soon.
