Now a days there will be no house without a cable connection. It may be a local cable connection or may be a dish and so on. Some house may have two or more TVs and as much cable connections too. But having two connection in a house is a extra cost. Then we may think of connecting the two TVs with one Set Top Box. Is it possible to connect two TVs from a single set top box? If yes How to connect two TVs from one set top box? Lets look.
first of all lets look what are the requirements for this;
- RC Pin to 2 Socket Convertor
- HDMI Splitter
Many of the Set top boxes now providing by the Cable TV operators may have a HDMI port along with the ordinary video cable ports. If any one of the TVs in which we intends to connects have HDMI port, then we can connect one with HDMI port and other with the Audio Video RC port.
In earlier set top boxes, there will be a RC Socket only. Then we need to purchase three RC Pin to 2 socket Convertor. And these splitters are to be connected on video audio ports on the set top box. Then with the help of RC cable, two TVs can be connected by plug in to the splitter.
The set top box available now has HDMI ports along with the RC port. Then we can connect one with HDMI port and other with RC connector. or else we can split the HDMI port by purchasing HDMI Splitter and connecting it on the HDMI port. After Splitting, two TVs can be connected. If the set top box has both HDMI port and RC port, then we can connect up to four TVs from a single set top box.
These all are the solution of connecting multiple TVs from a single set top box. But there is a major drawback for this method. If we change the channel from the set top box, all the TV screen will be changed to that channel. We cannot change the channel over each TVs. This is a major drawback of this method.
