Vidya Tharangini : Today most of the education done through digitally. As we all know , most students study online from home. But students from financially distressed families do not have the money to buy a mobile phone. An interest free loan scheme is being implemented for the purchase of mobile phones for students who are having difficulty in conducting online studies. Let’s see what about this project and who can apply for this project.
The project is named as ‘Vidya Tharangini’. Mobile phones are important thing for students to study online. This will make digital learning easier. So loans are provided by banks and co-operative societies. Under this scheme, a student can get a loan of up to Rs. 10,000 to purchase a mobile phone for study purposes. The loan is available till July 31st.
A loan of up to Rs. 5 lakhs can be given to a co-operative society for implementation of Vidya Taragini scheme. Students who are eligible to apply can obtain a certificate from the concerned school authority and contact the concerned co-operative for the loan. The repayment period is a maximum of 24 months. The amount should be repaid in equal installments during this period. The parent of the student who purchased the mobile phone should present the bill of the amount used to purchase the phone to the concerned institution. After the repayment perios the loan is repayable at a maximum interest rate of 8%. Vidya Tharangini is definitely a scheme that can be used by poor students who are struggling with online learning.
