To apply for a smart ration card, you need to open the official website of the Civil Supply Corporation. Then select the Citizen login option. Then you will get two options called Akshaya or Citizen. After entering your Aadhaar number and ration card number, click on the I Agree button and then the validate button below. When giving the Aadhaar card number, it is sufficient to provide the Aadhaar number of any person to whom the ration card is linked. Type the captcha given by the form as well and click on the submit button.

Then you can create an account by entering the user login id, password and your name and email id. The message ‘Registration Completed’ is now available.

Again you can select the Citizen login option and create an account and open an account with your login id and password. There are two things to keep in mind before making a ration card smart. Select the Aadhaar entry option and check if the Aadhaar card of all the persons given in the ration card is linked to the ration card. Then check that the surname and other details given on the ration card in English.

For those who have not completed the English data, select the English entry option and type the given last name, phone number and place in Malayalam in the English field. When you click on the Record Details option given below, you will see the message ‘Record saved successfully’. Click the Submit button below. Once again you will get the message ‘Submit record Successfully’ . Click the Ok button. Now the record can be seen as Approved Successful.

You can then select the option you want by selecting the Print option to pick up the smart‌ card or the standard ration card. If you choose this card, you will receive a card password with the phone number entered. Clicking on the ok button brings up a PDF file. You can open the file and download the PDF with the password provided by your phone number. This way you can easily download and use your e ration card for free.
